CRU2
The CRU2 is current reduction module that is designed to work with low current AC or DC voltage electric locking devices such as cylindrical locks, mortise locks panic trim, or strikes that are being used in a “fail safe” or “unlock cycle” condition. When energized the CRU2 allows the device to receive full current long enough for the solenoid to retract , once retracted, the CRU2 limits the current to the solenoid allowing it to run cooler, but delivering enough current for the solenoid remain retracted as long as it is needed. While limiting the current, the CRU2 sends an occasional high frequency pulse to ensure that there are no “re-locking” issues. This prevents failures due to door mis-alignment or prolonged lever engagement by the users.
CRU2i
The CRU2i is an intelligent, auto -voltage sensing version of the CRU2. The CRU2i senses the incoming AC or DC voltage between 12 to 32 volts and automatically adjust the retraction and holding current supplied to the unique Command Access solenoid in the electric locking device (cylindrical locks, mortise locks, or panic trim). For a minimal up-charge, you will have no more concerns whether your 12 to 24V power source is the right voltage or if the voltage is too high coming out the power supply . Just choose a power source with actual output voltage between 12 and 32 volts, plug in to your CRU2i equipped modification and let it do the rest.
